Aimee Bellefleur of Painting Perfection is excited to be back for another year at the Amherstburg Art Crawl!
This year, children are invited to take part in two fun-filled, one-hour hands-on painting experiences. Young artists will create their own masterpiece on canvas while following easy, step-by-step instruction in a welcoming and creative environment. No experience is necessary—just bring your imagination and get ready to paint!

Dance Workshops with Rivertown Dance Academy
Join us at the Junior Art Crawl for interactive dance workshops with Rivertown Dance Academy!
Come tap into the groove, unleash your imagination, and experience the joy of movement with our friendly and inviting faculty. We are thrilled to host three distinct workshops designed to get young artists moving:
10:30 AM – 11:15 AM — Creative Movement (Family Participation) (Ages 3 – 5)
Enjoy organic movement using colorful props and and fun tunes for all ages.
1:30 PM – 12:15 PM — Hip Hop 1 (Ages 5 – 10)
Get ready to boogie and groove to popular kid friendly music while you explore fundamental movements inspired by Hiphop and Funk.
12:30 PM – 1:15 PM (Ages 10+) Contemporary
Join us as we dive into creative movement and expressive dance that reflects elements of storytelling and emotional connection. This fluid style of movement is good for the soul!
Music Workshops with Kara Kaufmann
10:30 AM — 11:00 AM — Making Mini Musicians with Kara Kaufmann (All ages)
This parent and tot music class dives into musical concepts — beat, tempo, dynamics and more — through hands-on instrument fun, silly songs, and movement games. This workshop will be packed with ideas you’ll be excited to bring back into your everyday play!
11:30 AM — 12:00 PM — Songwriting Workshop with Kara Kaufmann (Ages 5 +)
Let’s write a song together! In 30 minutes we will go from concept to completed song in this group workshop!
12:00 PM — Ukulele Workshop with Kara Kaufmann (Ages 4+)
Learn three chords using just one finger to play some of our favourite pop songs!
11:00 AM – Sandwich West Public School’s Madagascar Jr. Showcase
11:20 AM – Improv Workshop by Unlimited Productions
Improv is a type of play-based drama where actors come up with characters, ideas, lines, and actions right on the spot. In this workshop, we will explore movement and character through quick-thinking drama games and small skits. Bring your imagination (we’ve got the props), and don’t be surprised if we get a little silly!
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM – Tia McGraff at River Bookshop – Musician
Award Winning Nashville Singer and Songwriter Tia McGraff and her husband Tommy Parham are returning to River Bookshop for a special Art Crawl Story Time. Tia's love for performing has taken her all over North America to perform, write and record with artist such as Randy Bachman, Johnny Cash.
Tia is also an accomplished children’s author, notably with her book, “Jake the Road Dawg.” Based on the life and adventures of her beloved pet, the book has inspired classrooms around the world, while supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Tia’s local Humane Society. Tia will perform and share her Road Dawg Stories and books at River Bookshop.
12:00 PM- Sandwich West Public School’s Madagascar Jr. Showcase
12:20 PM – Musical Theatre Workshop by Unlimited Productions
Musical theatre combines singing, dancing, and acting to tell a story on the stage. In this workshop, we will take you through the song and choreography of “Together Forever,” from the musical theatre production of Madagascar - A Musical Adventure Jr. You will become the animals of the island of Madagascar as you “move it” along with Alex the Lion and his pals to discover just what it takes to put on a show.
12:30 – Musicland Band Camp
Musicland’s Band Camp musicians work hard all week at camp to get ready for their big performance during the Jr. Art Crawl!
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Marcus Cutler – Illustrator
Local Author and Illustrator Marcus Cutler returns to River Bookshop for StoryTime. When Marcus Cutler was young, he liked to practice drawing by copying superhero comics, and now he has written and published three books of his own, and illustrated dozens of other authors stories too. Come hear some of his stories, such as The Crayon Stub, I Do Not Eat Children, and The Three Canadian Pigs and see Marcus create his characters and illustrations in person.
1:00 – 2:00 – Junior Windsor Symphony Orchestra
Sunday’s Jr. Art Crawl transforms Art Alley into a vibrant celebration of creativity for children and families, featuring live performances, interactive workshops, hands-on art activities, musical entertainment, theatre experiences, and special author presentations. With opportunities to create, explore, and be inspired throughout the day, it’s the perfect way for young artists and their families to experience the Art Crawl together.
